The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation is about using micro pigmentation, a form of cosmetic tattooing to create make-up effects to enhance facial features. It covers the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored
to suit individual client needs.
This qualification has been specifically designed for the 18+ age group, building on existing knowledge and understanding of therapy skills and will develop an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare learners for employment. Learners will have their skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.
This qualification will require research; it includes the skills involved in providing the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored to suit individual client needs, use micro pigmentation techniques and manage the health, safety and security of the salon.
This qualification has been mapped to the relevant NOS, and is regulated on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
You will prepare for and achieve a range of micro pigmentation effects as well as provide the relevant aftercare.
To carry out this treatment you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work.
Prerequisites
You must have completed a Level 3 beauty-related qualification prior to undertaking this qualification.
Learners who wish to undertake this qualification must also achieve the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services qualification. This will be assessed via an online exam or written work.
