Side Effects of IVMT

• Sensation of heat, particularly with large doses or rapid administration, especially magnesium and calcium. This can last 1-2 days.
• Sharper visual acuity and colour perception immediately after an injection, as if someone had turned the lights on. In some cases, this could last up to one or two days.
• This is due to rapid administration of magnesium, which can lead to light-headedness or even syncope.

There have been rare reporting’s of:

• Dermatologic — rash, erythema, pruritus
• CNS — headache, dizziness, agitation, anxiety
• Ophthalmic — diplopia
• Allergic — urticaria, periorbital and digital oedema
