Module 2 — Anatomy of the Face & Energy Points

Learning Objectives

  • Identify key muscles, lymph pathways, and pressure points
  • Learn how energy centres relate to facial areas
  • Understand contraindications

Anatomy

  • Key Facial Structures:
    • Muscles: Frontalis (forehead), orbicularis oculi (eyes), masseter (jaw), orbicularis oris (lips).
    • Lymph Nodes: Preauricular (by ears), submandibular (under jaw), occipital (back of head).
  • Energy Points:
    • Third eye point (between brows) – intuition and clarity.
    • Temple points – Associated with stress release.
    • Jawline – At the lower edge of the cheekbone, anterior to the masseter muscle’s bulge when the jaw is clenched. Linked with emotional tension release. Avoid over-stimulation if there is active inflammation, dental surgery, or infection in the region.

  • Why This Matters:
    • Placing crystals on certain zones amplifies relaxation and drainage.
    • Combining energy points with facial massage enhances results.

  • Contraindications:
    • General contraindications for facial treatments apply – no active skin infections, open wounds, recent injectables or surgery, severe acne, skin infections or pregnancy/breastfeeding. Refer to your facial training for a full list of contra-indications.
