Cavitation with ultrasound

Cavitation is an ultrasound wave that mechanically disrupt the cell membrane of the cell. The ultrasound wave creates a vibration within the fat layer, the fat cells do not have the structural capacity to withstand this vibration and the cell membrane will very quickly break down.

These broken cells then release the triglycerides into the interstitial space in-between the cells, where they are enzymatically changed into free fatty acid and glycerol.

Water soluble glycerol is absorbed by the circulatory system and use as the energy source.

Insoluble free fatty acids are transported to the liver and processed.

Benefits of cavitation-

  • Inch loss
  • Circumference Reduction
  • Instant results that are cumulative
  • Less dimpled, smoother appearance to skin

Cavitation- Ringing in the client ears!

As ultrasound waves pass through the epidermis at a frequency of 40 kHz (hence the name 40K Lipo) to cause disruption to the fat cell membrane therefore causing the fat cells to break open a client will hear a ‘ringing’ in their ears. The ringing heard comes from the micro-vibration of fat cells. This phenomenon will always be accompanied by cavitation weight loss treatment. If it disappears, it is no longer 40 kHz therefore not an effective treatment.

Therefore, it is normal to hear the noise when during the ultrasonic cavitation treatment and shows it is working.

How to reduce the noise in the ear?

  • Make sure there is no wear metal jewellery when doing the cavitation treatments, this will cause even more noise.
  • Try to reduce the energy to find the most comfortable one.
