Skin Absorption
The skin is designed to provide protection and not to let things in therefore it has limited powers of absorption. The skin can absorb UV light and medical grade ingredients.
Larger molecules often sit on top of the surface of the skin and deliver immediate benefits to the epidermis. They can often be described as emollients.
Smaller molecules, often medical grade ingredients, can penetrate deeper through the skin. Mesotherapy techniques can assist with this deeper delivery.
When the skins barrier is compromised, often from poor skincare routines, the skin will loose moisture (transdermal water loss) as well as leaving the skin open to infection.
Often this leads to the skin to become sensitised so clients believe they have a sensitive skin. Once the damaged barrier has been restored the clients skin should hopefully retain moisture and be less sensitive.
