1. Describe the functions of the nail (protection)

2. Label the diagrams of the structures of the cross section of the nail with the following terms: Nail root/matrix, mantle, plate, wall, grooves, bed, lunula, free edge, hyponychium, cuticle (eponychium, perionychium).
3. Describe the function of each of the structures that form the nail:

Matrix, Mantle, Nail Plate, Free Edge, Hyponychium, Nail Bed, Lunula, Cuticle, Eponychium, Perionychium

4. Explain the factors that affect nail growth
