Contractions and aftercare advice

Clients can resume work or normal activities almost immediately post- treatment.

The following should be avoided for at least 24 hours post procedure:

  • Swimming in chlorinated pools or the sea.
  • Make up
  • Intensive cardio, exercise or gymnasium regimes that cause sweating
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol

The following should be avoided for at least 1 week post procedure:

  • Direct ultraviolet light exposure (sun and solariums)
  • Further clinical treatments (including, but not limited to): microdermabrasion, laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, muscle relaxant injections, and dermal fillers.
  • Tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing)
  • Applying high dosages of active topical skin care ingredients (including but not limited to): retinoids, hydroquinone, alpha-hydroxy-acids, beta-hydroxy-acids, benzoyl peroxide, alcohol (ethanol/isopropyl), chemical based sunscreens.
  • Excessively hot showers, bathing spas and saunas

Homecare advice:

Ensure the application of factor 50 on the face to help prevent against UV rays.

Book a course of micro needling sessions to achieve maximum results

Apply a skin rejuvenation serum daily

Treatment recovery:

Derma pen treatment recovery is fast due to the adjustable needle depth, vertical insertion of the needle and osculation speed.  Immediately following treatment erythema similar to the appearance and sensation of sunburn will be visible, this is a good indication of successful treatment.  There will be no laceration marks, bruising, grazing, track marks or scabbing on the area treated as the puncture channels constrict within 7-15 seconds following entry into the skin.

Pinpoint bleeding can be expected and is very minimal in most cases.  People on anti-coagulant’s or supplements will be more prone to pinpoint bleeding.

Some clients may experience minor itching or swelling on the area treated.  This can be because of the accelerated cellular desquamation or in very rare cases may be a minor skin reaction to certain topical anaesthetics.
